Morzine

Morzine is the perfect location for your winter chalet holiday. Situated in the Haute Savoie area of the French Alps and just a short 75 minute transfer away from Geneva airport. Offering rolling mountains and picturesque chocolate box chalets it is one of the world’s largest linked ski areas. Spanning France and Switzerland, Morzine is a perfect base for you ski or snowboard holiday.

The town of Morzine has managed to maintain its authentic alpine charm and despite the growth of tourism it has kept traditional architecture of wood built chalets to give a truly magical feeling. Morzine’s first hotels opened its doors in the 1920’s. The first Pleney lift was opened in 1924 and the latest Pleney telecabine was recently replaced for Winter 2013/14. The bustling town has a wide variety of shops selling everything from traditional savoyarde produce to on-trend winter equipment and clothes. At night there is good mix of bars and clubs providing everything from chilled out bars to clubbing into the small hours.

Getting to Morzine

Flying – Geneva airport is 85Km away and the journey takes approximately 1 hour 15 minutes by minibus which is one of the shortest transfers in the Alps. We include return transfers from Geneva airport in the price of your catered holiday.

Driving – If you choose to drive it is approximately 8 hours drive from Calais and all of our chalets have ample parking.

Activities in Morzine

Swimming Centre – Morzine swimming pool was opened for winter 2013
  • 25m x 15m Fitness pool.
  • 125 m2 Learners pool.
  • 50m2 Baby pool.
  • 160m2 Hydro-fitness area with 3 saunas, 2 steam baths…
Ice Rink – Morzine has 2 ice rinks in the winter

Outdoor Rink

  • 30m x 15m on the square in front of the Office de Tourisme.
  • Skate hire at the rink.
  • Events during the season: disco on ice, broomball matches , etc.

Indoor rink

  • 56m x 26m in the Palais des Sports.
  • Skate hire at the rink.
  • Bar and snacks in the event of bad weather.
  • Ice hockey match every week during the season, go and Cheer on the Pingouins, Hockey-Club de Morzine-Avoriaz (HCMA).
Snowshoeing

Why not try snowshoeing equipment can be hired from most of the Ski shops in town. If it is your first time we recommend a guide.

Sledging

A wild and breath-taking descent down the woody slopes with a view over the lights of Morzine.
Participants are taken to the summit of Pleney by the cable car bearing the same name, equipped with sledges and headlamps.
You will need a guide for this and ski patrol officers will be there to supervise you.
This activity is only open to children over 8.
