Friday the 11th of December 2026 marks the opening of the lifts in Morzine / Avoriaz for the 2026 / 2027 season a great chance for a pre-Christmas ski or Snowboard getaway.
Avoriaz will get the ball rolling with the opening weekend and the annual “Rock on Snow” festival. There is lots going on across the weekend; Ski/Snowboard contests in the mini park, split boards and touring, kids snowboarding introductions, Avalanche safety demonstrations, live music, DJ sets and loads more beside so a great way to kick off the winter. There are also over 80 brands exhibiting and demonstarating their kit giving you the chance to test the latest ski and snowboards from this year’s range for Free! A 3-day lift pass costs just €72.50 so what’s to stop you.
Morzine Opening 2026 / 2027 at Riders Refuge
Here at Riders Refuge we are also kicking off our season. We still have availability on our Gypsy Snowboarding Camp Week in Chalet Cuveloup from Saturday the 12th – 19th of December. The price of £1399 includes return transfers from Geneva airport, 7 nights’ catered accommodation, cooked breakfasts, afternoon tea and a four-course evening meal with complimentary wine. Also included is a 6-day Avoriaz ski area lift pass, 5 full days coaching from Gypsy Snowboarding, video feedback, plus extra treats during the week.
