Morzine Nightlife has a variety of great après-ski and evening entertainment for your to choose from. From a great micro-brewery the Bec Jaune, to old favourites such as Dixie Bar and Bar Robinson, there is something here for all tastes. There are also many special events throughout the winter and summer seasons including regular bands and international DJs.
Apres-Ski
Bar Robinson – A favourite with locals and seasonaires, Bar Robinson caters for thirsty skiers and snowboarders straight off the slopes. The formula here is simple but brilliant with Muzig old larger served exclusively by members of the Robinson family. The bar opens at 4pm, is usually buzzing by around 6pm and closes at 8pm.
Le Tremplin – On Wednesday and Friday afternoons during the winter season, the Tremplin hosts local DJs in a fun après-ski party from 4pm – 8pm. This season the venue has undergone some redevelopment including an extension to the terrace, a snack van and a new outside bar. Wednesday’s draw the biggest crowds.
The Cottage – The Cottage is another après-ski venue with a great location just steps from Chalet Les Pistes and the Pleney lift. DJs normally play on the fantastic terrace here on Monday afternoons.
Bars
Le Crepu – The Crepu, located just a few steps from the Cavern and Opera night club, is an ideal spot for a few drinks either for après-ski or later in the evening. A good range of cocktails is offered in addition to the range of beers, wines and spirits.
Chez Roger – This bar, located right on Rue de Bourg, is popular both for Apres-ski and evening drinking. Roger always promises a ‘grosse ambience’ or lively atmosphere with regular bands and live djs.
Le Bec Jaune – Morzine’s newest addition is a great micro-brewery serving a variety of tempting ales and a range of organic wines and ciders. Morzine has long been in need of a venue of this kind for beer lovers and this is a relaxing place to share a drink with friends. The food menu in winter includes meat and veg daily specials in addition to meat and veg burgers, nachos and their infamous scotch eggs.
Dixie Bar – Dixie’s, an Irish bar, is a lively drinking spot in Morzine centre. Dixie’s shows all major sporting matches and events on its big screens. Look out for the Dixie Mick’s, an Irish band who play here regularly.
Tibetan Bar – The Tibetan Bar (formally the Buddha bar) offers a relaxed atmosphere and a good range of drinks. However, it is most famous for its ‘giraffe’ of beer, your own personal beer tap holding some 8 pints. When the bar gets busy, there is also table service to ensure you are kept adequately refreshed.
Wine Bars
Le Coup de Coeur – Le Coup de Couer is both a wine-bar and restaurant and a great place to meet for a quiet drink. A great variety of wines is offered here, many of which are on display on the shelves around the bar.
The Alpine Lounge – Another new addition to Morzine for the winter of 2013/14, the Alpine lounge is great bar in a convenient central location. Here, you can sample some fantastic wines in the comfortable seating area or enjoy some typical french cuisine in the restaurant.
Bar/Clubs
Cafe Chaud
Cafe Chaud underwent a welcome renovation and expansion in the summer of 2012, Knocking through an old kitchen to create much needed extra space. Visit Café Chaud on Sunday evenings for drum and bass and Wednesday’s for house music whilst bands play throughout the week.
The Cavern
The Cavern is the place to go for fun, cheesy music courtesy of DJ Ronnie and makes a great venue for groups. The Cavern tends to get very busy and often has large queues at the door so make sure you get there early.
L’Opera
Morzine’s famous nightclub that mainly plays popular dance music remains open until 5am every night during the winter season. Basscamp normally bring several international DJs to play here throughout the season. Be warned drinks are expensive in l’Opera, however if you’ve made it this far you may not need to buy many!
